'You Jane' ... Margot Robbie to star opposite <i>True Blood</i>'s Alexander Skarsgard (inset) in <i>Tarzan</i> reboot.

Australian actor Margot Robbie continues to cement her status as a major box office drawcard, having been confirmed as Tarzan’s love interest Jane in a 3D live-action remake of the adventures of the jungle-dwelling hero.

The Wolf of Wall Street star will appear alongside True Blood‘s Alexander Skarsgard under Harry Potter director David Yates. The Warner Bros production is scheduled to hit cinemas in July 2016.

Robbie has reportedly beaten Hollywood A-lister and The Amazing Spider-Man actor Emma Stone to the role — the second time Robbie has done so, after pipping Stone to the post of leading lady in the Will Smith rom-com Focus, out later this year.

Also signed up for Tarzan - a reboot of the classic works by Edgar* Rice Burroughs to be set in modern-day London – are Samuel L Jackson and Oscar-winner Christoph Waltz.

It’s the latest chapter in the meteoric rise of 23-year-old Queenslander Robbie, who rose to fame locally after joining Neighbours in 2008. She is currently the number three most searched star on IMDB after Phillip Seymour Hoffman and Jennifer Lawrence, and ahead of Scarlett Johansson.

Since her critically-acclaimed role as Leonardo DiCaprio’s wife in Martin Scorsese’s Wall Street drama, she has scored a coveted spot on the cover of the annual Vanity Fair Hollywood edition, appearing alongside names such as George Clooney and Julia Roberts.

She also sparked controversy last week amid reports her legs were digitally extended during a scene from The Wolf of Wall Street, where she pushes DiCaprio with a high heel. Robbie herself has previously criticised the demands of Hollywood on women, saying: “There is a stereotype that you need to look a certain way, and when you get into the business, you really feel the pressure.”

Robbie will also appear in the coming wartime drama Suite Francaise, alongside Michelle Williams and Kristin Scott Thomas, and is currently filming post-apocalyptic scifi thriller Z for Zachariah with Chris Pine and Chiwetel Ejiofor in New Zealand.

Just when you were starting to recognize The Wolf of Wall Street‘s Margot Robbie with her clothes on, the Australian actress (and red carpet newbie) has thrown you another curveball — she’s gone brunette, as seen in the WhoSay photo below.

Robbie dons a newly dark do and a trucker hat on the set of her new film Z for Zachariah, in which she stars as a girl in postapocalyptic America with a mysterious visitor. And appropriately, she captioned the photo “First day on set for Z! She ain’t a Duchess no more” — referring to her lavishly attired and super-glam character in Wolf. The actress had already given fans a heads-up that she was sporting a new look a few days earlier, Tweeting “Prep for Z for Zachariah is well and truly underway – I’m now officially a brunette and spent the day milking cows and driving tractors!”

Margot Robbie steps out to support her movie The Wolf of Wall Street at a red carpet premiere event on Monday (January 20) in Brisbane, Australia.

The 23-year-old actress grew up just an hour away from the city on the Gold Coast. After the premiere, Margot changed into a short black dress to head out for dinner with friends.

Over the weekend, Margot wore a floor length black dress when landing at the airport in Brisbane.

It was just announced that Margot is in talks to star in two very high profile movies!

FYI: Margot is wearing a rag & bone dress, Giambattista Valli jacket, Sophia Webster shoes, Jacquie Aiche jewels, and carrying a Viktor & Rolf handbag.

Margot Robbie.

Australian actress Margot Robbie will follow up her breakthrough performance in the Martin Scorsese film The Wolf of Wall Street with a starring role in the highly anticipated film Z For Zachariah.

The deal was finalised in Los Angeles on Sunday.

It confirms the 23-year-old former star of the long-running drama series Neighbours as one of Hollywood’s hottest emerging properties.

Z For Zachariah is directed by Craig Zobel and also stars Star Trek actor Chris Pine and 12 Years A Slave’s Chiwetel Ejiofor.
It is based on the Robert C. O’Brien novel of the same name.

Robbie is replacing actress Amanda Seyfried who had been signed to the film, but has bowed out.

It is believed the film will be filmed partially location in New Zealand.

Robbie has two other films already in the can: the comedy Focus, in which she stars opposite Will Smith, and the romance film Suite Francaise, in which she stars opposite Michelle Williams and Kristin Scott Thomas.

Robbie is currently enjoying the heat of Hollywood’s spotlight after playing the Brooklyn-born trophy wife of Leonardo DiCaprio’s greedy corporate raider Jordan Belfort in Scorsese’s The Wolf of Wall Street.

She also won fans among the star-studded A-list audience at last week’s Golden Globe awards when she and Wolf of Wall Street co-star Jonah Hill were left at sea when the autocue failed.

While both waited for the problem to be fixed, Robbie joked: “I’ve never done this before, so I don’t want to improvise.”

Actress Margot Robbie had to lie to her family members about her nude scenes in new movie The Wolf Of Wall Street because she knew they would be mortified if they found out she was stripping off for director Martin Scorsese and co-star Leonardo DiCaprio.

The Australian star admits she was worried about the nudity in the film from the minute she learned Scorsese had cast her in his latest film, but she was too nervous to share the full details with her family back home.

She says, “I just flat-out lied to my family for a really long time, and I said, ‘I don’t care what you hear, there is no nudity, I’m not doing any nudity. Ignore anything anyone’s saying…’

“I changed that and the lie evolved to, ‘Actually, it’s a body double and they just CGI’d (computer generated) my head onto someone else’. My family don’t have anything to do with the entertainment industry, so they totally bought it.”

Robbie eventually came clean and told family members that they shouldn’t see the film if they were uncomfortable about seeing her naked.

She adds, “I said, ‘Read the book first and if you still wanna see the movie after reading the book, OK’.”

The actress is hoping to jet out of her native Australia following the premiere Down Under, so she doesn’t have to be part of “the aftermath” because, “I’m not quite sure how it’s gonna go down”.

It’s hard to imagine saying “no” to Martin Scorsese. The Oscar-winning director of “The Departed,” “Hugo,” “GoodFellas” and more remains one of the most prolific filmmakers in the business, as fresh and energized now at 71 years old as he’s ever been.

But Australian actress Margot Robbie nearly turned down the chance to work with Scorsese on “The Wolf of Wall Street,” based on true-stories of fraud and crime on Wall Street in the 1980s. Robbie plays Naomi Lapaglia in the film, a role that requires no small amount of nudity — a fact that nearly drove Robbie away from the project.

Margot Robbie wowed at the premiere of “The Wolf Of Wall Street” in New York City last night (Dec. 17).

The Australian blonde beauty walked the red carpet at the Ziegfeld Theatre in a white Armani Prive gown, Brian Atwood shoes and creepy, yet captivating, pearl spider earrings by Jacob & Co jewels. The 23-year-old, who got her big break on the ABC series “Pan Am” in 2011, was joined at the premiere by Leonardo DiCaprio, Jonah Hill, Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves.

“When I got the material, I didn’t like the character,” Robbie told Elle of playing the leading lady in Martin Scorsese’s latest film. “But by the time we got to shooting, I loved her. She’s a bada-s who’s making lemonade — with no f–king lemons.
