Focus Movie Release Date, Reveals, Rumors, Reviews and Updates: Will Smith and Margot Robbie to Star in Upcoming Romantic Comedy
It has been a long time since we saw Will Smith in a movie that we actually liked and enjoyed; when I say this I am assuming we all thought After Earth was a horrible movie. Anyway Mr. Smith is coming back to our screens in the movie Focus set to be released on February 27th 2015. The flick which is produced by Zaftig Pictures and costs just 100 million dollars is directed by Glen Ficarra and John Requa. Mr. Ficarra is one of the founders of Zaftig films so he really has a lot of eggs in this basket. The movie does not have a whole lot of names attached to it and as at now we do not know if that’s a good thing or a bad thing. Mr. Smith I actually the only person of note on the project and if it weren’t for Warner Brothers it would almost qualify as an indie film.
The movie is set to be a romantic comedy drama about a seasoned con man that gets himself romantically involved with a woman whom he introduces to his illustrious trade. The two find themselves falling in love and our protagonist feeling that this may be a liability cuts all ties with this woman, he just walks away. Fast forward to three years later and she shows up again with a child. She is trying to run a con on our protagonist’s mark which catches him unawares and throws him off his game.
Filming for the movie wrapped in December of 2013 and considering the release date we wonder how much post production work is really needed, we would expect a mid to late 2014 release date. Will Smith was not the first option for this movie, the role was offered to Ryan Gosling, Brad Pitt and Ben Affleck all of whom turned it down for various reasons. The role for the female role was also first offered to Emma Stone and Kristen Stewart who also both declined for some reason or other before it was offered to Margot Robbie.
‘The Mountain Between Us’

An adaptation of the Charles Martin book, the film is a harrowing tale of survival and a love story. Ashley is a writer catching a flight from Salt Lake City and heading East for her wedding. Ben is a doctor returning from a medical conference. When their flight is cancelled due to a broken de-icer, the strangers agree to charter a ride, only to see the pilot suffer a heart attack and crash into a desolate snowy mountain region. He breaks ribs and she suffers a leg fracture. Fortunately, aside from a doctor he’s an avid climber, and as he struggles to get her down from the mountain in harsh weather, she begins to realize that maybe she was headed to marry the wrong guy.
‘Ghost in the Shell’
Rupert Sanders is directing the film, which is based on the popular Japanese manga.
Margot Robbie is in early talks to star in “Ghost in the Shell,” which Rupert Sanders is directing for DreamWorks, multiple individuals familiar with the project told TheWrap.
A live-action film based on the popular Japanese manga created by Masamune Shirow, the story follows the exploits of a member of a covert ops unit of the Japanese National Public Safety Commission that specializes in fighting technology-related crime.
Avi Arad and Steven Paul are producing the Bill Wheeler-scripted film, which has been a passion project for DreamWorks principal Steven Spielberg.
Robbie turned heads with her performance opposite Leonardo DiCaprio in Martin Scorsese‘s “The Wolf of Wall Street,” and “Ghost in the Shell” is another major role that will allow the Australian actress to showcase her action chops. Female-driven action movies such as “The Hunger Games,” “Divergent” and “Lucy” have all performed well at the box office.

It looks as though the world’s favourite damsel in distress is already in need of her knight in shining loincloth.
Margot Robbie, 24, was spotted getting into character as Jane Porter on Wednesday, as she shot scenes for the upcoming retelling of the classic tale Tarzan.
The Australian beauty wore a cream Victorian dress as she was seen tied up on the upper deck of a steam paddle boat on the UK set.

He will be invited back to Congo to serve as a trade emissary of Parliament. There, while investigating suspicious activities at a mining camp, he realizes that he has become a pawn in a deadly game of greed and revenge that is being orchestrated by Captain Rom. Tarzan will then team up with the former mercenary Williams to rescue the proverbial damsel in distress, serve justice jungle-style, clobber the bad guys and otherwise save the day. As is expected, there should be non-stop action.
How is this for a cast? Ralph Fiennes, Tilda Swinton, Margot Robbie and Matthias Schoenaerts. Not much is known about the untitled film, described as a “sexy thriller,” only that it will be the next project of Italian director Luca Guadagnino. Filming begins this summer in Italy.

Australian actor Margot Robbie continues to cement her status as a major box office drawcard, having been confirmed as Tarzan’s love interest Jane in a 3D live-action remake of the adventures of the jungle-dwelling hero.
The Wolf of Wall Street star will appear alongside True Blood‘s Alexander Skarsgard under Harry Potter director David Yates. The Warner Bros production is scheduled to hit cinemas in July 2016.
Robbie has reportedly beaten Hollywood A-lister and The Amazing Spider-Man actor Emma Stone to the role — the second time Robbie has done so, after pipping Stone to the post of leading lady in the Will Smith rom-com Focus, out later this year.
Also signed up for Tarzan – a reboot of the classic works by Edgar* Rice Burroughs to be set in modern-day London – are Samuel L Jackson and Oscar-winner Christoph Waltz.
It’s the latest chapter in the meteoric rise of 23-year-old Queenslander Robbie, who rose to fame locally after joining Neighbours in 2008. She is currently the number three most searched star on IMDB after Phillip Seymour Hoffman and Jennifer Lawrence, and ahead of Scarlett Johansson.
Since her critically-acclaimed role as Leonardo DiCaprio’s wife in Martin Scorsese’s Wall Street drama, she has scored a coveted spot on the cover of the annual Vanity Fair Hollywood edition, appearing alongside names such as George Clooney and Julia Roberts.
She also sparked controversy last week amid reports her legs were digitally extended during a scene from The Wolf of Wall Street, where she pushes DiCaprio with a high heel. Robbie herself has previously criticised the demands of Hollywood on women, saying: “There is a stereotype that you need to look a certain way, and when you get into the business, you really feel the pressure.”
Robbie will also appear in the coming wartime drama Suite Francaise, alongside Michelle Williams and Kristin Scott Thomas, and is currently filming post-apocalyptic scifi thriller Z for Zachariah with Chris Pine and Chiwetel Ejiofor in New Zealand.
Just when you were starting to recognize The Wolf of Wall Street‘s Margot Robbie with her clothes on, the Australian actress (and red carpet newbie) has thrown you another curveball — she’s gone brunette, as seen in the WhoSay photo below.
Robbie dons a newly dark do and a trucker hat on the set of her new film Z for Zachariah, in which she stars as a girl in postapocalyptic America with a mysterious visitor. And appropriately, she captioned the photo “First day on set for Z! She ain’t a Duchess no more” — referring to her lavishly attired and super-glam character in Wolf. The actress had already given fans a heads-up that she was sporting a new look a few days earlier, Tweeting “Prep for Z for Zachariah is well and truly underway – I’m now officially a brunette and spent the day milking cows and driving tractors!”
