AUSTRALIA’S Hollywood starlet of the moment, Margot Robbie, is bringing her glamour to the Melbourne Cup Carnival.
Confidential can reveal The Wolf of Wall Street actress will be the special guest in the Swisse marquee in the Birdcage on Emirates Stakes Day, November 8.
Robbie has many friends in Melbourne, thanks to her three years living here while working on the long-running soap Neighbours.
Now based Hollywood, the 24-year-old said she can’t wait to get back.
“It’s been a whirlwind few years and I am just so excited to be coming back to Melbourne for the races,’’ Robbie said.
“Hopefully some of my friends will be free to spend the day with me in the Swisse marquee which will make it more fun.
“Stakes Day has always been one of my favourites.”
Since moving to Los Angeles after finishing her stint in Neighbours, Robbie’s star has continued to rise.
She became a global name thanks to her starring role opposite Leonardo DiCaprio in The Wolf Of Wall Street last year.
Robbie will play Jane Porter in the new movie Tarzan and Jane, opposite Alexander Skarsgard.
Her movie opposite Will Smith, Focus, will be released soon.
The film was written and directed by “Crazy, Stupid, Love” filmmakers John Requa and Glenn Ficarra
Will Smith and Margot Robbie play a high-risk con game in the first trailer for grifter romance “Focus.”
“Crazy, Stupid, Love” filmmakers John Requa and Glenn Ficarra wrote and directed the film, about veteran con man Nicky (Smith), whose world is turned upside down when he takes Robbie’s character Jess, a rising star in the game, under his wing.
The two go their separate ways but collide again years later when Jess has come into her own as a femme fatale, threatening one of the biggest cons of Nicky’s career.
Ben Affleck and Kristen Stewart were previously attached to an earlier incarnation of the project, which was originally set up as a potential starring vehicle for Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone. Denise Di Novi produced the movie.
“Focus” will be released on Feb. 27, 2015.
To many Margot Robbie would be considered one of the most beautiful women in the world.
So if a romantic quote posted to her Instagram account on Thursday is anything to go by, her boyfriend Tom Ackerley is one lucky guy.
The 24-year-old Australian actress shared some heartfelt words amongst vintage-esque photographs.
Unclear whether the message is targeted at a special someone, or if the Wolf Of Wall Street star is just a fan of the romantic words, her followers certainly liked the post.
Giving her beau something to think about, one fan commented: ‘What happens when the girl that makes the world most beautiful is also the most beautiful girl?’
Spotted in a passionate embrace back in August, Aussie beauty Margot and Ackerley have kept their relationship relatively private.
The actress is yet to post a shot of her beau on social media, while Tom has only shared pictures of himself with the actress surrounded by friends.
Focus Movie Release Date, Reveals, Rumors, Reviews and Updates: Will Smith and Margot Robbie to Star in Upcoming Romantic Comedy
It has been a long time since we saw Will Smith in a movie that we actually liked and enjoyed; when I say this I am assuming we all thought After Earth was a horrible movie. Anyway Mr. Smith is coming back to our screens in the movie Focus set to be released on February 27th 2015. The flick which is produced by Zaftig Pictures and costs just 100 million dollars is directed by Glen Ficarra and John Requa. Mr. Ficarra is one of the founders of Zaftig films so he really has a lot of eggs in this basket. The movie does not have a whole lot of names attached to it and as at now we do not know if that’s a good thing or a bad thing. Mr. Smith I actually the only person of note on the project and if it weren’t for Warner Brothers it would almost qualify as an indie film.
The movie is set to be a romantic comedy drama about a seasoned con man that gets himself romantically involved with a woman whom he introduces to his illustrious trade. The two find themselves falling in love and our protagonist feeling that this may be a liability cuts all ties with this woman, he just walks away. Fast forward to three years later and she shows up again with a child. She is trying to run a con on our protagonist’s mark which catches him unawares and throws him off his game.
Filming for the movie wrapped in December of 2013 and considering the release date we wonder how much post production work is really needed, we would expect a mid to late 2014 release date. Will Smith was not the first option for this movie, the role was offered to Ryan Gosling, Brad Pitt and Ben Affleck all of whom turned it down for various reasons. The role for the female role was also first offered to Emma Stone and Kristen Stewart who also both declined for some reason or other before it was offered to Margot Robbie.
WHILE social media has had a huge impact on the wider world, the very public way of sharing your life isn’t for Margot Robbie.
The celebrated actor is arguably a star on the rise, with back-to-back films following her breakout role alongside Leonardo DiCaprio in The Wolf Of Wall Street.
But with that fame, comes increased interest online, especially through social media.
“For some people, it (social media) definitely opens a lot of doors, but for me personally, I don’t like it and it is my least favourite aspect of the job,” Robbie told Insider.
“Unfortunately that’s the way it is and you’ve got to take it on the chin and focus on the important things, which to me is the work.”
“Obviously social media has had a massive impact on the fame game, but not in a positive way. But it can be for some.
“There are those who build careers and companies just out of being popular on Instagram, but there’s nothing behind them,” she says.
Actress Margot Robbie has had the opportunity to work with the best in the business after starring with seasoned actor Leonardo DiCaprio in the Wolf of Wall Street, directed by the iconic Martin Scorsese.
But the the 24-year-old star, whose big break came when she scored the role of Donna on Australian soap Neighbours, says she has the lessons she learned at Ramsay street to thank for her bi-screen success.
In an interview with the Sunday Telegraph, the A-list star cited working on Neighbours as her biggest learning curve so far, calling her time on the show ‘valuable’ and acknowledging how much the series helped her as a professional.
‘Probably the most valuable knowledge I’ve acquired in the industry so far was on Neighbours,’ said the blonde beauty.
‘It is so fast paced that there is not really any room for error and it turns you into a very efficient person when it comes to being on set.’
The Queensland-born star played Donna Freedman on the long running series from 2008 to 2011, working alongside fellow Aussie stars Caitlin Stasey and Dean Geyer, and earning two Logie Award nominations for her portrayal of the lovable girl-next-door character.
But after featuring in hundreds of episodes, the starlet decided to leave the production, packing her bags and moving to America.

Rupert Sanders is directing the film, which is based on the popular Japanese manga.
Margot Robbie is in early talks to star in “Ghost in the Shell,” which Rupert Sanders is directing for DreamWorks, multiple individuals familiar with the project told TheWrap.
A live-action film based on the popular Japanese manga created by Masamune Shirow, the story follows the exploits of a member of a covert ops unit of the Japanese National Public Safety Commission that specializes in fighting technology-related crime.
Avi Arad and Steven Paul are producing the Bill Wheeler-scripted film, which has been a passion project for DreamWorks principal Steven Spielberg.
